Mexican Mini Sour Gherkins aka Cucamelons or Mexican Mini Watermelons (15 seeds)
Newly rediscovered heirloom. Produces abundant crops of 1-2" fruits reminiscent of tiny watermelons that fall off the vines when ripe. Sweet cucumber flavor contrasted by a surprising sourness, as if they are already pickled. Great for growing on a trellis. 60-70 days.
- Direct sow seeds outdoors 1" deep after danger of frost
- Thin to 3-4 plants in a 6' radius
- Germination in 7-14 days (as little as 2 days with the Super Starter Kit!)
- Full sun
Green Thumb Tip: Sow seeds outdoors in 12" diameter hills after the last frost when soil is warm. Space hills 6' apart in all directions. Can also be started indoors 2-4 weeks before the last frost for an earlier harvest. Benefits from consistent moisture. Provide support for vines to save space.
